Lourdes Delgado

Barcelona, 1965

Lourdes Delgado-Fernandez holds a PhD in Humanities at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and she teaches photography at Grisart (Barcelona).
Her doctoral thesis focuses on the problems of using photography as an identification tool from a multidisciplinary perspective. It researches the historical roots of the use of photography for suspect identification and their status of legal evidence in U.S. courts, as well as analyzes psychological studies on face recognition.
Previously, in 2013 Lourdes Delgado received a MD in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a BD in Informatics Engineering at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. Currently, her research focuses on history of photography and the use of photography for identification.
